Fun with Fruits and Vegetables

I really enjoyed using the light from an LED source to get these shots.

The Spice of LIfe

I'm into my Starbucks

My starbucks cup looks like a big hill to climb until I get to the top and finally, dive in.

Fun with my scanner

Some interesting results from the scanner. I like Mickey the best. The etched glass paperweight picks up the light in an interesting way. And yes, I know I need to clean the scanner glass!

Fort Russell

There are some interesting houses in the Fort Russell neighborhood. Here are two of them across the street from one another.

Downtown Architecture

Moscow will never be confused with Rome, but if one looks carefully, there are some interesting things to see. Here are some of my favorites.

Landscapes

I took these using a 70-210 mm zoom lens during late afternoon looking southeast from my back deck.

Oh the agony!

A player on the Oaks team loses the ball, only to have it picked up for a score by our team.

Family Portraits

For our assignment this week to do some people pictures, Natalie and I set up a little studio in our basement. I have a couple of lights and a tripod, so we put up a sheet for a background and voila! Mr. Mark's new competition. ;-)

I have started using Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 to organize and edit my images. All I did for these was to crop them a bit and run the auto fix algorithm to see what would happen. I can't say I'm real impressed with the changes that the program made. No doubt this means I need to spend a lot more time learning what I'm doing.

Stop!

If your car gets this close to the sign on a dead-end street, you're in trouble.

The Flash Effect

Here is a similar picture of Natalie with the same settings except using the camera's internal flash.

Dust to Dust

This is Natalie on the stairs with dust motes in the foreground.
